INTELLIGENT ACCESS PROGRAM

IAP stands for Intelligent Access Program. The IAP is a voluntary program which provides heavy vehicles with access, or improved access, to the Australian road network in return for monitoring of compliance with specific access conditions by vehicle telematic solutions. In addition to enhanced access, the IAP also helps to improve road safety, efficiency and productivity in the road transport industry, reduce compliance costs, reduce environmental effects and promote sustainable road infrastructure.

To subscribe to the IAP transport operators apply through their road authority to see if they are eligible to enter into the program. Eligible transport operators then need to contact OmniTRACK and enter into a contract.

The transport operator's heavy vehicle will then be fitted with an in-vehicle unit (IVU) to enable monitoring of a number of vehicle parameters. From there OmniTRACK monitors for compliance and notifies their road authority should any non-compliance occur.

OmniTRACK is able to provide this service to transport operators in addition to, or separately from, other OmniTRACK services.
