OmniTRACK adds fatigue management capabilites
21 May 2008
OmniSTAR, world leader in providing DGNSS positioning
technology, has developed a Fatigue Management option which can be
added to its OmniTRACK asset monitoring and tracking system.
OmniTRACK's new Fatigue Management option allows fleet managers and
operators to easily monitor drivers' hours and meet duty of care
requirements for commercial vehicle drivers.
The Fatigue Management option is fully automated, and designed
to minimise the effort required to manage drivers' hours. Lindsay
Ross, National Sales Manager of OmniTRACK explains "we believe this
option is a great timesaving device for supervisors or back-office
staff who are required to laboriously check drivers' logs for
compliance. The Fatigue Management option cuts out the paper work
as it provides supervisors with all the information they require in
easy to read reports from the OmniTRACK website".
The Fatigue Management option is available to customers through
an upgraded version of firmware in OmniTRACK's Mobile Data Terminal
(MDT). Lindsay Ross explains "for the system to operate, all that
is required from the driver is to login into the MDT and enter
details of their current activity. A summary of hours worked, hours
left and any violations that may have occurred are instantly
available from the OmniTRACK website. We believe this option is a
huge leap forward in the monitoring of personnel safety, and will
prove beneficial to both big and small transport companies".
OmniTRACK's Fatigue Management option has been developed to work
with all State and Territory duty of care requirements. Therefore,
no matter where your operations may take place, this system will
provide you with the correct rules for that particular state.
